Dust allergy may cause inflammation of eyes, ears (otitis), nose and sinuses, chest (bronchitis, asthma), and/or skin (eczema). The household measures described in this DVD greatly reduce symptoms for most dust allergic individuals, usually within 48 hours, typically decreasing the need for medications. Dust proofing can prevent progression of allergies, reducing the likelihood that allergic nasal symptoms will extend to bronchial asthma. It can also prevent extension of symptoms into year-round discomfort, when there is a low level sensitivity to house dust with symptoms only in pollen season.
